Foul Play

What joy did you get from mistreating me
What pleasure from deceiving me
Loading me to believe the fallacies
Trusting you to care about me
Because I care about you
And you know that is true
Many people like to play those games
So many that it amazes me
That you picked me
As a player
When I made it clear
I don't like games
By the time I realized
I was too deep in the game
To find the best way out
Must unplug to escape
Never to plug it back in
You could have picked a more willing player
But you chose me
I cannot participate in your foul play

The Flesh

I will no longer fight your lust with my love
No more tearing away your flesh
To get to your heart
Combat your wandering eyes
With my captivating smile
I fell for you
The you that you showed to me
Never fully knowing your totality
Wishing now that I did
Heard all of your wonderful aspects
Experiencing any of them was
Few and far between
Deducting me from the equation
Is the only feasible solution
Only way to mend the pieces
What is left of my heart
So I will no longer fight your lust
With my love
No more tearing away your flesh
To get to your heart
